EASI ZERo
Envelope mAterial System with low Impact for Zero Energy buildings and Renovation
Project Overview
EASI ZERo develops bio-based & recycled construction materials to cut buildings’ CO₂-emissions and energy use. The system offers high thermal performance, easy installation, and circular economy benefits. Validated via real use cases, it supports EU’s Renovation Wave for near-zero-energy buildings.
Europe’s building sector is responsible for 40% of energy use and 36% of CO₂ emissions, yet renovation rates remain far too low. EASI ZERo addresses this challenge by introducing an inclusive, versatile system of sustainable building materials, designed for easy installation, long-term durability, and circular economy principles.
Since 2022, the EASI ZERo project has worked to aid Europe’s transition to climate-neutral buildings. As part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, this initiative brings together 16 partners, from research institutions to material innovators and construction experts, to redefine how we renovate buildings for energy efficiency, affordability, and sustainability.
